XR Boston Fiscal Sponsorship People's Assembly!

XR Boston's third Demand: "Beyond Politics" aims to create a system of government in which decisions about the climate crisis are made by People's Assembly. To practice that style of governance, we are hosting a People's Assembly to discuss how best to steward the finances for our chapter! The board members of our current fiscal sponsor (CDA EF) are stepping down by September 1, and we have the opportunity to make a recommendation for new board members for the nonprofit by July 31. These volunteers would step into the roles over the course of August, to allow for a smooth handoff and training period during August and ensure legal compliance with the corporation officer requirements (i.e., President, Treasurer, and Clerk) imposed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Are you interested in serving on the board of a Nonprofit? Are you interested in encouraging fellow community members to step into those roles? Are you generally interested in making sure the chapter's finances are stewarded with integrity? Join us from 1 pm to 3 pm to discuss options for fiscal sponsorship and confer on who might make a good board member for CDA EF. Light vegan snacks will be served.
