STATEHOUSE STANDOUT

Thursday, Apr 02

Every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 2pm volunteers stand out at the Statehouse for 2-hour "shifts" either outside or inside depending on weather, and interact with visitors, legislators and Statehouse staff about the Climate Crisis. We share our demands: No New Fossil Fuel Infrastructure, Truth Telling from our Government, and a Just Transition to a Green Economy. The Standpout started in June 2023 and we are coming up on the third year of one of the longest consistent standouts for the climate in Massachusetts history. This is a great way to participate in the climate movement with no risk of arrest! Our persistent presence is our superpower. To get involved feel free to show up at any of the times listed above and connect with volunteers already on site. To find us check first the General Hooker entrance from Beacon Street and, if we are not there check the Ashburton entrance on Bowdoin Street. Signs, tabards and handouts are supplied. If you have questions please contact organizers at fossilfuels.standout.ma@proton.me
