 R's JP Affinity Group and other rebels in marching in the Wake Up the Eart
 h Parade\, JP's annual celebration of the Earth as she awakens into Spring
  from her winter slumber! We'll have banners\, flags\, puppets and other b
 eautiful things to march with. Bring your flags!\n\nMeet at Curtis Hall\, 
 20 South St\, Jamaica Plain at 10:30am. Parade begins at 11am. The march f
 inishes at the festival grounds (Stony Brook Station) at approximately 12p
 m.\n\nSwing by the XR table at the festival grounds to say hi to fellow re

  that was cleared for a highway. When the communities of Jamaica Plain and
  Roxbury started a grassroots movement with the South-West Corridor Coalit
 ion to stop  Interstate 95 from cutting through their neighborhoods\, they
  reclaimed that cleared earth and turned it into a farm\, a festival\, and
  a tradition now 48 years strong. Every first Saturday in May\, thousands 
 return to this space to dance\, parade\, create\, and celebrate our neighb
 orhood's history of activism\, expression\, and inclusion. Art is how we b
 uild and empower our community.
