  provide psychological first aid. Developed jointly with the National Chil
 d Traumatic Stress Network\, PFA is an evidence-informed modular approach 
 for assisting people in the immediate aftermath of disaster\, terrorism\, 
 and other traumatic or stressful events: to reduce initial distress\, and 
 to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning.\n\nIt is for use by f
 irst responders\, incident command systems\, primary and emergency health 
 care providers\, school crisis response teams\, faith-based organizations\
 , disaster relief organizations\, Community Emergency Response Teams\, Med
 ical Reserve Corps\, and the Citizens Corps in diverse settings.\nIn this 
 short workshop\, we will learn about the history and applications of PFA\,
  practice the 8 core actions to take when providing PFA\, and discuss how
