 here's nothing scarier than wildfire smoke darkening our skies\, sea-level
  rise and record-breaking hurricanes flooding our cities\, and extreme dro
 ught threatening our food supply. Join Extinction Rebellion and Car-Free 
 Boston for a Halloween bike ride to demand action on the climate and ecolo
 gical emergency. \n\nWe will meet at City Hall\, Cambridge. This approxima
 tely 7-mile ride will be a slow and mostly flat route through Cambridge an
 d Somerville. This bike ride will follow the [Climate Change is Scary Para
 de](https://xrmass.org/action/camberville_halloweekend/) -- we'd love to s
 ee you at both! \n\nThis is a protest\, but also a party! Costumes highly
  encouraged! LEDs highly encouraged! Sound bikes highly encouraged! \n\nW
 e demand: \n\n- Cambridge and Somerville must tell the truth. This means
  creating and publicizing annual carbon reports\, teaching every public s
 chool student about the climate and ecological crises\, and actively colla
 borating with the media to raise awareness.\n\n- Somerville must declare C
 limate Emergency now. Cambridge must take drastic action consistent with t
 he Climate Emergency declaration it made 10 years ago.  \n\n- Cambridge 
 and Somerville must prioritize safe carbon-free forms of transportation\,
  especially walking and biking\, and reduce space and infrastructure devot
 ed to private car ownership.
