Clothing Swap and Repair!

With cold weather fast approaching, many are looking to buy a new fall sweater or winter coat, eiher to keep up with ever-changing trends and freshen up their wardrobe or perhaps because their current clothing is in poor condition and in need of repair or replacement. The fast fashion industry traps many of us in a cycle of buying cheap but poor quality garments every year as people lack the skills to properly care for, mend, and extend the life of their clothes. All while contributing significantly to pollution and landfills.

Help us break from this pattern at our mending party/clothing swap! Bring old clothes you don’t use anymore or favorites in need of some loving care. You’ll be able to trade with others for new pieces that may be more to your current tastes. Anything that doesn’t find a new home will be donated to the Allston Brighton Congregational Church! We’ll also be learning how to mend and repair clothing by direction of one of our experienced rebels, so you can hold onto clothes you already love for longer.
