Buy Nothing Day Party 2025

Celebrate another evening of festive anticonsumerism, at XR Boston's annual Buy Nothing Day Party, with a Free Stuff Swap, Ecstatic Dance, and more!

Bring items you don't need, but think others might appreciate...Toys! Jewelry! Art! Puzzles! Books! We'll have folding tables to display them on. Then, browse and socialize and learn more about our movement for a livable planet.

There'll also be free snacks + drinks, and interactive activity stations, with art and dancing!

The free stuff swap will run from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. After that, we'll quickly clean up the tables and have an hour of facilitated ecstatic dance from 8:45 - 9:45 pm before closing up for the night.

What is ecstatic dance? Ecstatic dance is moving freely in community, with no substances, talking, or phones to distract from the being present in the moment and in your body. If you've never done it before, don't worry, there's no way to do it wrong! There will also be a facilitated warmup at the start.

Please take your unclaimed items as you leave! We recommend that you bring only items that will fit in a 45"x45" space. We also ask that you do not leave any items on the Linwood St free shelves outside the church.
